Coach Accreditation

Community Coach Course (Level 0)
Cost: Free online courseDuration: Complete at your own pace Age Minimum: None Eligibility: Beginner coach or anyone wanting to learn more about the basics. Course Objective: To help beginner coaches run a successful practice session focused on skill development and tips for game day coaching. Club Coach Course (Level 1)
Cost: $110 for NBL1 clubs, $120 for non NBL1 clubs. Duration: 6 hours Age Minimum: None Eligibility: Must have completed Community Course, attended SAC Workshop 1 this year, or coached for 12 monthsCourse Objective: To help coaches understand modern coaching techniques and concepts at a club level. Topics Covered: ➢ Games Approach to Learning ➢ Man to Man Team Offence ➢ Man to Man Team Defence ➢ Transition Offence/Defence ➢ Individual Offence/Defence ➢ Zone Offence/Defence

SACE
  • SA Country Basketball have recently introduced a SACE-recognised Coaching Program for Year 11/12 students to incorporate their coaching work into SACE credits.

  • To have 10 credits recognised, students must complete the following:
  • - Community Coach Accreditation (1 hour)
  • - SA Country Workshop attendance (1.5 hour)
  • - Coaching at Aussie Hoops or equivalent mini hoops clinics- 1hr per week for 2 terms (20 hrs)
  • - Coaching at Community Development Program or coaching for a team- 1.5hrs per week for two terms (30 hrs)
  • - Club Coach Accreditation (8 hrs)

  • Total: 38 hrs
  • Recognition Requirements
  • To have the 10 credits recognised, documentation of completion for both Community Coach Accreditation and Club Coach Accreditation will need to be submitted. Forms showing completion of involvement in development programs or team coaching are to be signed by an SA Country affiliated association and can be found on SA Country Basketball’s website.
