Sporting Schools Program
Sporting Schools is a $320 million Australian Government initiative designed to help schools increase children's participation in sport and connect them with community sport opportunities. Sporting Schools programs are provided free to children and their families to help students build the confidence and capability to be active for life.
To help achieve this, Sport Australia has partnered with more than 35 national sporting organisations (NSOs). With their involvement, Sporting Schools offers a greater delivery of nationally endorsed products supported by NSO-endorsed coaches that can also support your school’s curriculum.
Grants of between $1,000 and $3,600 (GST exclusive) are available per school for each term.
Basketball Australia introduces students to basketball in Sporting Schools with two nationally accredited programs including Aussie Hoops, the official introductory program for primary school students, and 3X3 basketball, designed with secondary school students in mind.
